SPEAKERS:

MC: Faith Agugu founder of Silver Sirens

Faith is a Sydney-based Psychotherapist who founded Silver Sirens in 2018 after a number of women in 'midlife crisis' were referred to her. She realised that her cultural lens on ageing differed greatly from those of many of her western sisters and she felt called to change the negative narrative some of these women had internalised about ageing.

Faith creates engaging and uplifting conversations that honour each women's individuality.

Tania Dalton

Tania is 52, a healthy ageing coach and personal trainer with a special interest in helping women thrive in menopause.

Although fit and healthy, Tania was unprepared for the menopause transition. After developing a simple but effective way of managing her own menopause symptoms and becoming her healthiest and happiest self, Tania is now passionate about sharing her strategies and thoughts about this transformational time of life.

Pauline Manley

Pauline is the Director New Moves Wellness Program

She is a 58-year-old woman. She is a dancer, a teacher, a writer and this is the best time of her life. This has both surprised and delighted her. But in some ways, it makes sense.

"After decades of working in dance and academia, I have mastered the art of knowing what I truly want, what works for me, what makes me happy, and what makes me healthy. I have everything I need and I am full of midlife agency.

It is this surprising exuberance that helped to create and continues to refine New Moves Wellness: a program of classes, seminars, and consultations that makes the body a source of joy, balance, and peace for mature women. New Moves embodies the holistic approach to health and happiness that works in my life.

But my early years were far from peaceful or happy. By the time I was 6 I had been raped by 4 men. One of them was my father. I have spent years surviving and healing from these traumas. But it is my hardships that have burnished me brightly. It is my hardships that have made me appreciate happiness. It is my hardships that have made me kind and wise. So my ageing is not a decline but a time of fulfillment, connection, productivity, wisdom, dancing and a dog called Prince".

Cathy McGillivray

One day I woke up and decided that I need to be fitter and healthier. I was 48years old 50% body fat and miserable and my New Year's resolution was to “get fit”.

Little did I know that one decision would change my life and the lives of my clients for years to come.

I have now been a personal trainer for 11 years and own Fit Beyond 50 personal training studio.

I believe that every woman and any age can be stronger, healthier, and happier if they look after their body.

Being fit isn’t about being skinny! Being fit is knowing you are able to do whatever you want whenever you want to at any age!
