About the event

Yoga, one of the world’s oldest health systems is receiving new attention for claims that it can contribute to healthy ageing.

Multiple studies provide data showing that yoga practice has positive effects on cellular ageing, mobility, balance, mental health, and prevention of cognitive decline—all areas of concern for ageing adults.

Yoga, breathing and Guided Relaxation for Sleep

Waking in the night or having difficulty falling asleep can play havoc with our energy levels and quality of life.

Discover practises and techniques to help improve the quality (and quantity!) of your sleep as you age.

This 60-minute workshop is run by yoga and meditation teacher, Katie Brown. Katie (who is post-menopausal and loves her sleep!) is an expert on relaxation and the author of Guided Relaxation – Your Essential Guide to Creating Calm and the Relaxation Rainbow – Guided Visualisations for Children.

This workshop is part practical so will include a mix of information, breathing techniques, self-massage and Guided Relaxation.

You can do this workshop seated, but you may like to lie down on a yoga mat and have a pillow/bolster and blanket handy.

This is for all ages and all levels.
