Living intentionally and drinking deeply from the cup of life without conforming to stereotypes of ageing.
I’m South African and have been living in Australia since 2009. Before coming to Sydney I also lived in the US for 4 years while completing a doctorate. Since 2021 I left my academic career after 27 years and reinvented myself, became an empty nester, and moved to Port Macquarie, where I did not know anyone. I’m now living my dreams of living by the ocean, doing meaningful work in an enabling, stimulating environment, without having work consume my life. I love reading and have voraciously consumed the seminal personal growth literature. I’m a keen traveller (usually solo) and love exercising- weight training, walking, cycling and a bit of swimming.
Why I joined Silver Sirens
I attended my first Sirens event in 2021. Having felt like an outsider for so much of my time in Sydney, this was one of the very few times I felt I could exhale and enjoy being with like minded women
