Embark on an immersive cultural adventure through Accra, Ghana's bustling capital city, kicking off the Reclaiming Elderhood Retreat.
Begin your day at Independence Square, a symbol of Ghana's freedom and resilience, where you'll learn about the country's rich history. Next, explore the National Museum, which showcases a fascinating collection of Ghanaian art, history, and archaeology, providing invaluable insights into the nation's past.
Throughout the day, you'll engage with Accra's friendly locals, sample delicious street food, and gain a deeper understanding of Ghanaian culture. This unforgettable experience sets the tone for the rest of your elderhood retreat, as you continue to connect with your inner wisdom, explore new horizons, and cultivate meaningful connections with fellow Silver Sirens.

Transition to Royal Senchi and Welcome Dinner

Nkyinkyim Museum and Coastal Day Tour to ADA, Regional Accra
Embark on a transformative journey through the Nkyinkyim Museum, an exceptional institution dedicated to preserving and celebrating African history, heritage, and culture. Nestled in the serene farmlands of Nuhalenya-Ada in Ghana's Greater Accra region, this unique museum showcases an extensive array of exhibits that combine art, history, performance, and intangible cultural practices.
Founded by Kwame Akoto-Bamfo, the visionary behind the Ancestor Project, the Nkyinkyim Museum began as the permanent home for the Nkyinkyim Installation and has since evolved into Ghana's largest outdoor museum. The museum's mission is to promote healing and restorative justice for people of African descent, addressing the legacies of colonialism and enslavement through the power of art and education.

The heart of the Nkyinkyim Museum experience lies in the griots, respected storytellers who have been trained to interpret and share the rich narratives of African traditions and history embodied in the sculptures and exhibits. As you explore the museum, you will encounter these knowledgeable guides who will unveil the stories, symbols, and wisdom that define the cultural heritage on display.
